When heatwaves last longer, rivers swell after storms and cities trap pollution in concrete heat islands, daily life in the South Adriatic becomes more than just uncomfortable; it starts to affect people’s health. This growing concern lies at the heart of MICA, the new cross-border initiative launched in Bari on 24–25 November and funded by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme.

On Thursday 27 November 2025, the Kick-off Meeting of the SUMO 2.0 – Sustainable Mobility Upgrade 2.0 project took place online. The project is funded by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic 2021–2027 Programme and coordinated by the Port of Bar (Montenegro). The meeting gathered, for the first time, partners from Italy, Albania and Montenegro: the Port of Bar, the Public Transport Company of Brindisi, the Municipality of Durrës and the Municipality of Termoli.

This November marked the beginning of a new era for the Territory Museum of Foggia, as it embraced a fresh vision driven by creativity, collaboration, and cultural innovation. Through the CREATIVITY – Cultural & Creative Industries for a South Adriatic Identity project, the museum hosted two days of collaborative activities to redesign the Museum’s identity and future role, strengthened by synergies with the Euro-MED project MedDiet GO and the funded project “Transumanti: una comunità in cammino”.

An important step towards a smarter and more sustainable future is being made at the Port of Termoli thanks to the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Connectivity project “Connecting the South Adriatic: establishing a secure, efficient, and resilient connectivity governance”.  Through a pilot action led by the Southern Adriatic Sea Ports Authority (AdSPMAM), the port is strengthening its role as a hub for innovation and cross-border cooperation.

From November 17 to 19, 2025, the GOVERNANCE project reached a significant milestone: the Mid-Term Review, an essential event that brought together representatives and experts from Italy, Albania and Montenegro to reflect on the project’s achievements and outline the next steps towards enhancing public administration across the South Adriatic.

The SMART LAND 2.0 project officially begin with its Kick-Off Meeting hosted at the Agency for Development and Business Support in the Old Royal Capital Cetinje. Co-funded by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme, the project brings together municipalities from Montenegro, Italy and Albania to rethink mobility in rural areas, where limited transport options often isolate communities and increase daily costs.

The Union of Municipalities Basso Biferno, Lead Partner of HEVON Project, launches a Call for Expression of Interest addressed to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) active in the high-quality EVO value chain in Molise and Puglia Regions. The initiative aims to strengthen their competitiveness by involving them in a cross-border network promoted under the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme.

The international kick-off meeting of “Artisan 4.0 – Digital Transformation and Innovation for Artisans in the South Adriatic Region” was held on 18 November at the CNA Bari-BAT headquarters in Via Nicola Tridente, marking the official launch of a cross-border initiative aimed at supporting digital transformation, the adoption of innovative technologies, and strengthening the competitiveness of micro and small artisan enterprises in the South Adriatic area.
