Interreg Frame has officially launched the South Adriatic Film Fund, offering up to €20,000 to support the development and pre-production of films and audiovisual works created jointly by companies from Italy, Albania and Montenegro. The international fund aims to support at least 8 audiovisual projects, providing up to € 20,000 per project and covering 100% of eligible costs. The call is open until 20 April 2026 at 14:00 CET.
It supports fiction feature films, TV series, creative documentaries and animation projects, with a focus on stories set in Albania, Montenegro, Molise or Puglia.
This initiative responds to a concrete challenge in the region. Audiovisual companies in the South Adriatic area often operate in fragmented markets, with limited financial resources for project development and few structured opportunities for cross-border cooperation. As a result, many promising film ideas struggle to evolve into international co-productions capable of reaching wider audiences.
By requiring structured collaboration between at least two co-producers, one Italian company and one based in Albania or Montenegro, the fund strengthens long-term professional partnerships across borders.
Through full coverage of eligible development costs up to €20,000 per project, the fund enables creative teams to strengthen scripts, formalize co-production agreements and strategically position their works for international markets.
Further details on eligibility criteria, requirements and application procedures are available in the text of the Public Call
